Horizon Forest Products and Long Floor Award 2008 Corvette During Customer Appreciation Nights

Virginia flooring company president claims top prize at annual customer event

RALEIGH, NC – December 1, 2008 – Horizon Forest Products (HFP), a top distributor of products for hardwood flooring contractors and custom cabinetmakers in the southeast, has completed their 11th Annual Open House event with the presentation of a 2008 Corvette valued at over $58,000. This year’s grand prizewinner was Jimmy Cheek, President of Cheek’s Flooring Service in Gloucester, VA. The company’s annual Customer Appreciation Nights (CAN) was held at each of the eight HFP and Long Floor locations and attracted over 1,000 customers—making it the largest CAN event to date.

Each HFP and Long Floor location selected a CAN winner who then went on to attend the grand prize drawing on October 23 in Raleigh, NC. CAN winners were chosen at random. The number of entries per company was determined by the number of product purchases made by a company throughout the year. Horizon Forest Products has provided a giveaway at every one of their 11 CAN events. Last year’s prize was five SEA-DOO GTI 4-Tec Watercrafts—one awarded at each HFP location.

HFP Vice President, David Williams, says that the yearly event is his company’s way of “giving back” to their customers. “Our Customer Appreciation Nights is our way of showing our customers how much they’re valued and appreciated,” says Williams. “We’re absolutely thrilled for Jimmy [Cheek] and truly appreciate him and all of our customers that continue to support our business and team members.”

Cheek’s Floor Service offers comprehensive hardwood flooring services including laying, sanding, and recoating. They serve the Peninsula, Middle Peninsula, and Gloucester area of Virginia and have been a Long Floor customer for 30 years. Cheek says that winning the Corvette was a dream come true. “I’ve never won anything, and I never thought I’d win a Corvette,” says Cheek.

HFP and Long Floor are already making plans for their 2009 Customer Appreciation Nights, although a prize has yet to be determined. Williams adds that it won’t be easy finding something that will top a $58,000 Corvette.
